inconspicuous consumption

in my opinion, President's Choice Chai Tea is not as good as the STASH variety. i'm just saying.

listening to:
The Decemberists - Castaways and Cutouts
The Decemberists - Picaresque
M83 - Before the Dawn Heals Us
Fischerspooner - Odyssey
Of Montreal - The Sunlandic Twins
British Sea Power - The Decline of British Sea Power
Genesis - A Trick of the Tail

watched Super Size Me last night. it made me feel hungry.

what?!?

Sufjan Stevens' new album about Illinois might be this year's Fiery Furnaces for me, but it's too soon to tell. One thing I know for sure: lool's remixing and retooling of Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" will be this summers dance hit.

Stash teas are dope.

i will check out the IL album on your say-so, since you were all up in the Fiery Furnaces, and you were right to be. i must say, your cred has suffered on the whole Holy Shroud thing, though...

i eagerly anticipate the new #1 Summer Jam. how is lool these days, anyway?

must get more Stash tea. a trip to Pete's Frootique after brunch might be in order.

i *do* highly recommend the PC Green Tea with Mint, however.

lool is doing well. Somewhat teutonic. Somewhat laconic. Hollaback is almost complete.

SS's album is a bit overlong. Some fat trimming would be a good idea. But the songs that work are freaking brilliant in a "holy crap, I'm so lucky to be alive so I can hear this!" kind of way. But there are a few...duds is too strong, I guess just lesser tracks that pale in the brilliance of the best ones. I'll ftp it to you sometime when we're both online. It's not available in stores until July.

Holy Shroud has grown on me though. I still can't rave about it, but I'll probably at least keep it. Maybe a few more listens and I'll love it, who knows. I'm more excited about NOA with JLaP though.

no need to supply me with some Illinois, i'm already hooked up.

i agree with you that some of the tracks are a bit "meh", but the opening track, "Concerning the UFO Sighting Near Highland, IL", is really, really good. i'll have to see how subsequent listens treat me.

who wouldn't look forward to new NoA? bad people, i suspect. i wouldn't want to know them.

I want this to be online traded and exchanged to the hilt. I'd like it to be as available as the original version. Put it up on Soulseek, or bit torrent, or Kazaa or whatever the kids are using these days.
